EVM without EVM

Wallets still speak Ethereum. There is no bytecode interpreter, and nobody deploys contracts.

  • JSON-RPC and MetaMask. Chain ID 77, 0x… accounts, eth_sendRawTransaction. See Network.
  • No bytecode VM. A transaction is a native USDC transfer, or a call to a registered precompile. There is no contract-create and no mempool-submitted bytecode.
  • Closed precompiles. HTLC, bridge mint, native transferWithAuthorization for x402, and the rest of the on-chain programs are a set the operator ships. Addresses: Precompiles. See also Bridge.
  • Why that matters. There is no interpreter to stall, no contract compute to amplify a flood, and no user-deployed Solidity whose bug can drain a pool.

Zero-fee transfers still need a throttle, not a gas auction. That is gasless and finality, not an EVM meter.
